Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

Performs a variety of accounting responsibilities while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and company policies and procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accuracy and compliance with GAAP, SOX and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains the integrity of financial systems.
  • Prepares and maintains schedules calculating accruals, including research and development accruals.
  • Performs reconciliations and analyses of certain General Ledger (GL) and bank accounts.
  • Prepares and records journal entries.
  • Prepares reports for internal reporting.
  • Prepares schedules, reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Maintains the fixed asset ledger and depreciation, property tax returns and audit.
  • Prepares income tax return schedules.
  • Processes semi-monthly payroll and prepares various related reports including 401k and worker’s compensation audits.
  • Performs month-end close activities.
  • Ensures that all actions, both internally and externally working on Acadia’s behalf are in compliance with all laws regulations, policies and demonstrates Acadia values.
  • Completes special projects as required.

Education, Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered 
  • Targeting 3 to 5 years of general accounting experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotech industry, or public accounting
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, cost account, public accounting, auditing, and payroll
  • Experience with GL module of ERP systems. Microsoft Great Plains preferred
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skill
  • Ability to work independently and solve moderate to complex problems
  • Detail oriented with good analytical skills
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of reliability and accurate work product
  • Results-oriented, ability to prioritize projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience operating with candid transparency, professionalism, strong emotional intelligence, and the highest degree of integrity
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) a plus

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. 

Salary Range
$77,000$100,000 USD
